The Oberoi Philae originally began service in 1996, configured at the time with 50 cabins and maximum capacity of 100 guests. A multiyear renovation completed in 2015 converted her into an extraordinarily beautiful and private ship, with just 22 cabins and accommodations for 42 guests, modern amenities, and a relaxed, elegant ambiance.

Oberoi Philae Ship Information
Her 22 cabins, including 4 suites, are large and comfortable, with ample space for storage. Bathrooms are large too. Windows are nearly floor to ceiling and slide open, offering idyllic views of the Nile and the passing scenery. The topmost deck has a swimming pool that is among the largest of any Nile ship, and an al fresco restaurant where lunch is served, weather permitting. Downstairs, there's a stylish enclosed restaurant as well. A spa and a professional wellness specialist add an extra level of amenity and comfort. The lounge is the venue for talks and recaps, and there are a number of other public spaces for you to discover-to relax, read, and enjoy the views.
Public Areas:
There is a great deal of attractive and comfortable public space. Deck E is a perfect place to relax and watch life along the Nile. The 36-foot-long swimming pool, surrounded by lounge chairs, is among the largest of any Nile ship. Some meals are served al fresco in the covered restaurant. D Deck has a fully equipped spa with treatment rooms, and there is a selection of spa treatments and massages available (a professional masseuse is on board). There is a fitness room with cardio and weight machines. C Deck has lounge and library, ideal for reading about Egyptian history. On B Deck you'll find the main lounge, which is the venue for talks and presentations. And A Deck has the elegant restaurant.
Meals:
Served in single seatings, meals focus on fine Egyptian, Middle Eastern, and Continental cuisine. Refreshments are always available. Lunch is often served on the E Deck, weather permitting.
Cabins:
All cabins and suites are elegant and very spacious. All face outside, with large windows that are almost floor to ceiling, and which open to offer great views of the Nile. There is ample storage space. Each cabin has a 40-inch flat panel TV, DVD player, mini-fridge, safe, hair dryer, individual climate controls, and remote control- operated blackout blinds. Laundry service is available. There is a mix of queen-bedded and twin-bedded cabins.
