Azamara's Latest Ship, Azamara Onward, Makes its Miami Debut

MIAMI, December 13, 2022: Azamara - the upmarket cruise line and leader in Destination Immersion experiences - celebrated the arrival of its latest ship, Azamara Onward, in Miami with a plaque exchanging ceremony on December 12. Local government officials, PortMiami leadership team, and Azamara's shoreside team came together to commemorate Azamara Onward's debut at the state-of-the-art PortMiami terminal in the city where the cruise line is headquartered. Following the celebration, attendees were welcomed to Azamara Onward's exclusive new Atlas Bar, where guests toasted the special event with destination-inspired cocktails and light bites.

Azamara was established in Miami in 2007 and is now headquartered in the heart of the Coconut Grove neighborhood, with a team of over 150 shoreside employees that continues to grow. This May, the company launched its fourth ship, Azamara Onward, in Monte Carlo, with the addition of exclusive new specialty cocktail venue Atlas Bar, as well as refreshed accommodations and new onboard entertainment options.

"Thank you to the Honorable Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, Members of the Board of County Commissioners, Miami Dade Beacon Council, and the PortMiami team for joining us to celebrate the very first time Azamara Onward is docking in our hometown," says Carol Cabezas, President of Azamara. "As a newly independent company, we have seen tremendous growth in Miami and beyond as we've doubled our international shoreside team, and we look forward to what's to come for Azamara."

Following its celebrated arrival in Miami, Azamara Onward will set sail on back-to-back Caribbean voyages. In January 2023, Azamara Onward will make its debut in Central and South America, a region the cruise line recently returned to for the first time since early 2020. In 2024, Onward will return to Florida for its inaugural 155-night World Voyage, beginning in Fort Lauderdale and visiting over 40 countries with 22 overnight stays and 27 late nights in port.

"Azamara has been an important part of our local community since its inception in 2007, and we are delighted to now welcome the latest addition to its fleet here in the cruise capital of the world," says Daniella Levine Cava, Mayor of Miami-Dade County. "We are ready to welcome Azamara's guests from all over the world as they embark on their dream vacations."
