Following an orientation briefing from your local and knowledgeable guide you will be given a map; then take to the streets to explore this medieval wonder on your own. Start with a walk along the narrow gate walls for a great overview of this walled city with stunning views of red rooftops, the Adriatic Sea, and nearby islands.

Back down on street level you will canvass this pedestrian-friendly city (no cars are allowed) and see its highlights, including Onofrio's Fountain, St. Blaise's Church, Rector's Palace, and the Franciscan Monastery. While here, be sure to watch your footing on the marble streets of the Stradun, or Main Street, and talk up the vendors in the open-air Green Market.

Afterward, make your way down to the port and board a private boat for a delightfully different view of the city walls from the water, as well as Daxa Island, Lokrum Island, and Montovjerna all the way to Fort Lovrijenac.
