Caribbean Princess Cruise Review - Day 7

Friday - March 15th

As our last full day aboard the Caribbean Princess arrived, we let ourselves sleep in without breakfast delivery in the morning. Knowing the next day we’d be back home to see our loved ones, we were happy to have reached the conclusion of our vacation. Although the fun, adventure and luxury was definitely present during this trip, we were looking forward to being on land, sleeping in our own beds, and seeing our friends and family. As we rubbed our sleepy eyes, opened the curtains to our balcony, and enjoyed a breath of fresh air, we decided to spend the end of our cruise relaxing so we’d come back home feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.

After grabbing our World Fresh Marketplace breakfast, we threw on our bathing suits to sunbathe at the Sanctuary’s adult pool. The pool was still drained from the thrashing of water caused by a rocky day, and I was fairly tired so I ended up just laying my towel down on an upper deck pool chair and taking a nap under the sun.

After a few hours of my outdoor nap, I decided it was time to cool off and grab some lunch while Megan stayed back to enjoy the last bit of sun rays on our vacation. I grabbed a plate of mashed potatoes, creamed spinach and vegetables from the World Fresh Marketplace and brought it out to the pool deck while Pirates of the Caribbean played on the pool’s movie screen over head. Wanting a bit more peace and quiet and still feeling slightly tired, I grabbed a small dessert from the buffet as I headed back to the cabin and onto our balcony to indulge in sweets and open my books back up to the impending chapters.

Once my plate was clean, my chapters were read, and I started dozing off again as I watched the ocean, I figured a nice long shower would be a good relaxing way to wake up before the night’s events. By the time I was out of the shower, Megan had come back to the room and we still had time to kill before heading over to the Liar’s Club game show at the Explorers Lounge and the finale of the Voice of the Ocean so we set up the laptop to stream Friends and then play Netflix’s Haunting of Hill House.

Once the game shows were getting started, we headed down to the Explorers Lounge, where we were put to the challenge of guessing the correct definitions of words, getting thrown off by three liars in the process. Essentially three different cruise staff members would give us a definition of a specific word, and we had to guess who was telling the truth. I’d say we did a fairly good job at catching the liars in their act.

Later in the night, we made a run for it to catch the finale of the Voice of the Ocean in the Princess Theater. Megan needed to see the famous Larry take his prize as the competition’s winner! Each singer walked onto the stage, belting their hearts out to the selected tunes, as the three judges in their swivel chairs would press the famous red button to turn around and fight for getting that star on their team. Peter Hollinson, the ship’s hotel director, would humorously remind each contestant that he’s responsible for their bags as they check out in the morning and this faux blackmail ploy worked to get some of the contestants on his side.

Because we had arrived slightly late, we didn’t have the required clickers to be able to vote for our favorite contestant so unfortunately cheering Larry on wasn’t enough to get him to win the competition. It’s okay; he was still the winner to us.

Craving chili cheese fries, we headed back over to the Salty Dog Grill to grab dinner to bring back to our room. There we continued to eat in bed while watching more spooky Netflix and packed up our things before shutting our eyes to the last night of our cruise vacation…
