Caribbean Princess Cruise Review - Day 2

Sunday - March 10th

We awoke at 8 a.m. to knocking on our door and were delighted at the breakfast of orange juice, tea, and bananas that had been delivered to us. The night before, we found a breakfast order form in our room that we decided to fill out and place on the outside of our door. This was just the energy we needed so we could grab even more food at the buffet! Taking my breakfast out onto the balcony, I reveled in the fresh air and bright blue ocean waves putting me into a state of bliss as I sipped my tea and continued to read the chapters of my books.

After slowly awakening to the day, picking out which bathing suits to wear out into the Princess Cays, and getting all set to leave the ship, we headed over to the World Fresh Marketplace once again to grab a bite to eat so we wouldn't be hungry right away once arriving to the island.

Once we chowed down on some more food and drank even more tea, we headed down to the Island Dining Room to wait to be taken to our destination via tender. The wait was a tad bit long as the boats could only carry so many people at a time. I hadn't realized that I'd need to wait for awhile, so I took a mental note to definitely bring a book the next time (it turns out neither of our other two destinations required tenders).

After our numbers were called and we hopped onto the boat, we made our way to the Princess Cays. With a breeze blowing our hair back, beautiful shades of blue surrounding us, and the view of the beach topped with bright huts and tall hills, we were astounded by our glorious first stop. As we took our first steps onto the island, sounds of live reggae music ricocheted through the air and with grins on our faces, we started to explore.

From shopping to swimming and sun tanning to enjoying a complimentary Princess barbeque on the island, time almost seemed to stand still. Once the clock struck 3 p.m. and it would soon be time to leave the port, we headed back to the boat, surprised that we still had so much of the day left to enjoy on our cruise.

By the time we got back to the ship, we were starting to feel hungry again and grabbed some snacks and more tea at our usual stop by now - the World Fresh Marketplace. Realizing there was still so much of the ship that we had yet to uncover, we took ourselves on a self-guided tour to find where all of the other amenities were. Taking a glance into the ship's gym, the beautiful view of the ocean waves from the treadmills was irresistible. Tired from the day, Megan took a nap back at our room while I put on my running gear and gazed out at the waves while pounding the pavement at the gym.

After a good sweat session and Megan's relaxing daytime nap, we decided to check out the nighttime screening of Bohemian Rhapsody out by the Calypso Pool. We grabbed some popcorn and lied down on the red mattresses placed over the pool chairs and pulled up the plaid blankets that were folded neatly for us.

Sucked into the movie, eyes watering from the sad scenes, and giggles blurting out from the film's humorous moments, watching a movie outdoors by the ocean waves and under the moon was truly remarkable. As the movie credits began to roll and we were brought back to reality, we realized we hadn't had dinner yet so we headed over to the Salty Dog Grill near the pools and grabbed some sandwiches, tacos, and fries to bring back to our room and conclude the night.
