Ask the Hawaii Experts!

Should You Rent a Car?
We recommend renting a car to get the most out of each destination. Car rentals in Hawaii are affordable and offer a convenient way to sight-see without the hassle of crowded buses or scheduled departures.

What languages are spoken in Hawaii?
English is the primary language spoken in Hawaii, but the original Hawaiian language is still used as well as a 3rd unofficial language, Pidgin. Other languages spoken include Filipino, Chinese and Korean.

Are the volcanoes still active?
Yes; there are five to be exact. This is nothing to fear on your trip though. Volcanic activity is monitored by scientists and the state to report potential hazards and make sure that the area is safe to visit.

When is the Best Time to Visit Hawaii?

The best time to visit is April through November.

Places to Visit in Hawaii

Maui
"The Valley Isle" is Hawaii's second largest island. Drive the historical Road to Hana for gorgeous photographs, find the perfect souvenir from the amazing art stores that fill Lahaina, or snorkel near the beautiful Molokini Crater.

Oahu
See where notable films like Jurassic Park and Kong Skull Island were filmed, visit native villages with the Polynesian Cultural Center, spend a day on the idyllic shores of Hanauma Bay, and don't miss historic Pearl Harbor & USS Arizona Memorial.

Hilo
Hilo is full of extraordinary natural areas for you to visit. Hike the rainforest at Volcanoes National Park, visit Rainbow Falls, or descend into a massive lava tube in Kaumana Caves. The Pana'ewa Zoo is the only one in the US located in a rainforest!

Kauai
The "Garden Island" earns its name from its beautiful valleys and rainforests. Hike Waimea Canyon or Na Pali coastline in Princeville, take a river cruise to Fern Grotto, enjoy surfing at Hanalei Bay, or get a birds-eye view in a doors-off helicopter ride over the island.

Honolulu
Our "can't miss" recommendation is the Chief's Luau with all sorts of Polynesian entertainment and traditional luau cuisine. For those in search of Hawaii's postcard-perfect photo ops, sit back and watch the surfers ride the waves at Waikiki Beach.

Kona
Journey into sunny Kona and see where the gourmet Kona Coffee brand gets their beans by taking a tour of the area's coffee farms. Captain Zodiac is also ready to take you snorkeling or boating around Kealakekua Bay to see Hawaii's sea turtles and spinner dolphins.
